Our Method: How it works
Our driving principle of providing the highest quality tuition is achieved via our tailored methods we use to ensure each student is confidently progressing academically by way of knowledge enhancement and application in practice through exam-relevant questions. We prioritise a thorough understanding of understanding subject matter, complemented by effective and tested exam techniques and past-paper practice​
Alongside providing regular tuition sessions for students, we also offer intensive revision-like courses for SATs, 11+, GCSEs and A Levels in order to prepare students for upcoming academic and admission exams.

Free Assessment and Discussion​
​
Following registration, you will undertake a free assessment, which will be tailored specifically to your academic levels and the content you have covered thus far, in order for your tutor to assess your current level in your subjects. At this point, we will also request you to discuss clearly your tuition requirements and ask you to provide us with any school tests you have recently undertaken so that your tutor can clearly understand which topics are to be focussed on and prioritised significantly.​
For students seeking group tuition, the assessment plays a key role in determining whether there is an appropriate tuition group for the student to join. If there is not an appropriate group and the student would like group tuition, we would encourage the student to check with friends and others with similar subjects, examination boards and tuition requirements to form a focussed and limited group of students, for whom we will provide group tuition sessions.​

Preparing the Tuition Plan

Taking into account the feedback from school tests and the assessment we prepare, you and your tutor will arrange a meeting where you are encouraged to openly discuss with your tutor which topics you would like most tutor assistance in. With this information, you and your tutor will work together to formulate a tuition plan detailing how the forthcoming tuition lessons will be structured. This tuition plan will act as a guide to the learning objectives or the topics which are to be covered over a certain number of tuition sessions and will also include regular tests based upon the student's exam board to improve how they answer exam-style questions. Regular feedback and reports will also be provided to the student presenting their academic progress.

Please note; although we do believe this tailor-made tuition plan is helpful for purposes of planning and setting targets, the tuition plan is not set in stone. Often students would like to spend more or less time covering certain topics, meaning the student may not always be exactly on track with the tuition plan. We appreciate that the tuition plan simply acts as a guideline offering students with a helpful plan.

If you would like to proceed with tuition sessions without a proposed tuition plan and alternatively plan your tuition sessions on an adhoc basis, that is perfectly fine. Our main focus is to support the student at all times; our tutor will work in accordance with what is in the best interest of the student. This is why our tutoring methods are always tailored to the bespoke requirements to the student.

Past Papers and Exam-Style Questions Practice

Along with encouraging you to complete and supporting you with a number of exam-style questions and partake in Q&A sessions during your tuition lessons, your tutor will also give you regular pre-planned tests.

Moreover, the tuition plan will also include a time period to cover a number of past papers and exam-style questions once all the relevant exam material has been covered in the tuition sessions. This will help prepare you for any exams by improving your exam techniques, including timings on answering exam questions along with general exam tips.

For any topics or particular questions which were not clear during the tests, you and your tutor will thoroughly go through the questions to ensure full clarity and understanding in all topics. You are also always encouraged to use their expertise and comfortably ask questions relating to the subject.
